Popcorn Makes you Popular!
Another month has flown by and you are not going to believe this amazing story! A frequent visitor to Papa Dean’s is a charming 1st grader named Clay. He always comes by with his amazing Mom to get their favorite popcorn, yet Clay seldom interacts with us due to his shyness. Well his very attentive Mother decided to send him to school one day with our “pocket popcorn” to hand out to all of his classmates. Of course we made darling personalized labels for each bag with Clay’s School logo and a verse which said “Have a “Poppin” Fun Day” From Clay.
Wanna guess what happened?…….. Clay’s teacher told his Mom at the end of the day that a “breakthrough” had occurred with Clay and his classmates. When Mom asked “how so?” the teacher replied that apparently when all the kids realized that Clay was responsible for their “Popcorn Favors” a bonding of sorts happened! Yesterday Clay and his Mom were in the shop and Clay actually told us all about the popcorn surprise he gave his classmates! His Mother didn’t tell us – CLAY TOLD US! See…. Popcorn really does make you popular! (smile)
Happy Autumn to all of you……. Okay one day it will cool off…. Just be patient.

We are so giddy to tell you all that Penny Gilley, a wonderfully talented country singer who performs in Branson commissioned us to invent a Snickerdoodle popcorn! We said NO! Just kidding…. Are you kidding, we POPPED to the idea! Long story short Penny is in development of her own line of country snack foods and now WE will be a part of that line! Anyway thanks to Penny, Snickerdoodle is fast becoming one of our most frequently requested flavors! “Sneak in a try some soon!”
Also as so many of you know our new Chicago Blend variety can hardly stay in the bucket! “Oh my popcorn”, it is flying outta here! It is Carmelized Cheddar popcorn; so hold on to your cowgirl hats because it’s salty AND sweet all in the same bite! It may be called “Chicago Blend (because it originated there), but now it’s another “Papa Dean’s Thing!”

Halloween is coming soon to a
neighborhood near yours. Be VERY afraid! Here at Papa Dean’s Popcorn we are
preparing for the annual Sunset Ridge Kids Trick or Treat Day! You DO know
about it don’t you ??? 
Okay, it’s Saturday,
October 27th from 10 AM to Noon. All of the merchants in Sunset Ridge will be
handing out treats for the kiddos and Papa Dean’s has come up with a very
creative little orange and black treat for you all. By the way, Tara and
Katherine will be in full Custom that day…. That alone will be 
worth
the trip! LOL
Speaking of Halloween, our orange and black popcorn is already available in the shop; of course the closer we get to the 31st, the more in-demaond it becomes! rder your “Trick or Treat Pop” early this year. Also this year we have these awesome “VIPG” (Very Important Popcorn Gifts) for Halloween! They are HOT, Orange, Black and prepackaged and ready to grab and go … for that special somebody that deserves a big BOO!

During the month of October Papa Dean’s will be offering what we’re calling “The Pink Ribbon Pocket”… of course, pink popcorn! They will be offered at $1.25 per bag and ˝ of all the proceeds will go to Texas Cancer Center right here in San Antonio! Please join us in finding a cure for breast cancer! Help us make this contribution add up!

The Sequel ….
Since we shared our story in last month’s newsletter so many of you have come into the shop to share your adoption story! Thanks to all of you for doing so.
Successful closed adoption reunion stories are far few and between, it seems, however I have heard of hundreds since I began my journey some twenty years ago to locate my birth-daughter, Tara. In our case her Mother, May Nell, (AKA Mrs. Papa Dean) was the driving force in the search for me and the subsequent reunion.
Now 16 ˝ years later
Tara and I are running a business together, see each other single day, I am an integral
part in my grandchildren’s lives on a daily basis, and to boot have a lovely
son-in-law who is supportive and our biggest fan. Keep sharing your story
because after all …
“we are ALL connected”
